Avant la colonisation par les Espagnols, l&rsquo;Escrima \u00e9tait enseign\u00e9 au m\u00eame titre que la lecture, l&rsquo;\u00e9criture et la religion.<\/p>\n<p>Dans les ann\u00e9es 1700, l&rsquo;Escrima devint un<strong> art clandestin<\/strong> lorsque les Espagnols bannirent l&rsquo;enseignement et la pratique de l&rsquo;Escrima. L&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e des Am\u00e9ricains en 1898 mit un terme \u00e0 cette clandestinit\u00e9.
